Uncomfortable Oxford

Community Engagement Manager | 2023 - Present

A woman walks past ancient stone ruins with arches on a sunny day, carrying a tote bag that says "uncomfortable YORK". The ruins are surrounded by green grass and trees, with a clear blue sky overhead.

Uncomfortable Oxford is a heritage-walking tour non-profit based in Oxford, Cambridge, and York. It was founded in 2018 by doctoral history students, with the aim of raising questions about the ‘uncomfortable’ legacies of inequality and imperialism in the city and university.

In my role as Community Engagement Manager I created and managed all social media content for Uncomfortable Oxford & Uncomfortable York branches, including short-form history videos designed to provoke discussion and shed light on the lesser-known stories of each respective city.
